CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) — A mother and her adult son are looking for a place to live after a fire destroyed their mobile home Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were called to a mobile home park along Altizer Avenue, just outside Huntington city limits, about 9:15 a.m.

The son tells WSAZ.com that he and his mom were asleep when he smelled smoke. He says that smoke, along with sparks were coming from an outlet in his bedroom.

After unplugging a lamp from that outlet, the fire started spreading.

He then got his mom out of the mobile home and called 911.

The Barboursville Volunteer Fire Department, along with several other departments were called to fight the fire.
