Mountaineer Fans Support Team with City-wide Tailgate Party
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) --Mountaineer fans in Charleston felt their adrenaline pumping and their team spirit soaring high at a city-wide tailgate party.
Fans banded together to cheer on their team Saturday outside Adelphia Sports Bar and Grill on Capitol Street. The big game was projected onto the side of a building outdoors.
"You just kind of feel like you're in a football atmosphere," fan Amber McMillion said. "It feels great."
Kevin Haynes says coming out to tailgate is a good way to meet up with old friends and share team spirit.
"Of course, we're all a little grayer now," he said with a chuckle, "but this is where we grew up."
Managers at Adelphia say they just started throwing the tailgate parties this season - and plan to continue doing so.
