ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- When you're thinking about your weekend or evening plans, you might think about catching a movie, going to a party or seeing a play.
Now, there's a new form of entertainment in town, and it's stirring up plenty of laughter.
Sassafrass Junction is a new puppet theater in St. Albans.
“We started a few months ago just doing a little party for some family and friends, and bought a bunch of puppets because I’m obsessive like that,” Chris Lilly, a puppeteer, said. “The next thing you know, we found a little piece of property here. You wake up two months later and you own a puppet theater.”
A puppet ministry group came from Ashland, Ky.,for the show and picked up some tips along the way.
“They’re learning how to manipulate the puppets and show a lot of expression,” Paula Krivchenia with Ashland United Methodist Church said.
