GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- With temperatures in the 70's Wednesday, you may not be thinking about snow. But, those in charge of clearing snow from the roads are making it a top priority.
Wednesday the Ohio Department of Transportation conducted a 150 point inspection on all its snow removal equipment making sure its ready for the winter season, according to Brenna Slavens with the ODOT.
Mechanics inspected trucks, tanks, plows and blades for safety and readiness.
"It's actually for both safety and to make sure our equipment is running. Every year we get this one chance to make sure everything is good to go before snow and ice season and that ultimately means better, safer roads for the public to travel during the winter," Slavens said.
District 10 is doing the inspections in all of its nine counties in south eastern Ohio.
