ATHENS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Ohio University Police are investigating homemade bombs that were set off on campus Thursday night.

Police say there were three small explosions behind Brown Hall, on South Green, just before midnight.

Police say the explosions came from "works bombs", which are homemade devices, made by mixing drain cleaner with other commonly found household products, and sealed in a plastic bottle.

Police say the mixture releases a gas, which builds up in the sealed bottle until it explodes.

There were no injuries reported, but OUPD says there could have been serious injuries due to the corrosive nature of the drain cleaner.

If you have any information, call OUPD at 740-593-1911.
