KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A grocery store that has been open for decades and even survived a massive explosion is closing for good this weekend.
The Oakhurst IGA, just off Corridor G, will lock the doors for good on Saturday evening.
The owner of the store sold the building.
He says a new tenant will soon take over but it will not be a grocery store.
The building was destroyed back in 1983 after a gas explosion.
18 people were hurt in the blast.
The store was closed for three years while it was rebuilt.
