Ohio Man Hurt in Whitewater Rafting Accident

FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An Ohio man was hurt in a whitewater rafting accident Tuesday afternoon on the New River near Nuttallburg, according to information from the National Park Service.

The 42-year-old man was unconscious when he was rescued. He and some other rafters fell into the water and were pulled out by rafting guides. The incident happened about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Double Z Rapids.

A rafting guide and a guest performed CPR on the unconscious man, who was later taken to Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill.

The man was listed in stable condition Tuesday night, according to the Park Service.
