UPDATE: Suspected ATV Crash Turns into Possible Hit and Run Case

GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- What was originally believed to be an ATV accident has turned into a possible criminal investigation.

The Greenup County Sheriff's Office responded to the 5000 block of Brush Creek Road in rural Greenup County just before 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputies say they found Charles L. McKenzie, 32, of South Shore, lying in the roadway, severely injured and unresponsive. He was transported to Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

Deputies believed that McKenzie was in an ATV accident, but their investigation revealed that McKenzie could have been hit by a vehicle.

A person of interest has been named in the case.

GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A man was taken to the hospital after an ATV crash late Tuesday night on Brushy Road, Greenup County 911 dispatchers say.

The accident happened about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The extent of the victim's injuries was unknown.
