UPDATE: Man's Name Released in Fatal Train vs. Pickup Truck Accident

UPDATE 8/19/14 @ 10:25 p.m.
BUFFALO, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The name of the man who died Tuesday afternoon in the crash between a train and a pickup truck has been released.

Charles Harrison, 73, of Buffalo, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Putnam County Sheriff's Department says.

The accident happened just before 4 p.m. Tuesday at an unguarded crossing on Route 62, just south of Buffalo.

Harrison's pickup truck was struck by a Norfolk Southern train.

A witness told deputies the train engineer was blowing the horn at the time of the crash.

BUFFALO, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Route 62 is back open Tuesday evening in Buffalo near the Buffalo Bridge following a fatal accident.

One person died there when a pickup truck and a car collided.

It happened about 4 p.m. Tuesday. The incident is still under investigation.

The name of the person who was killed has not been released.

BUFFALO, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One person has died following a pickup versus train accident.

It happened about 4 p.m. at the foot of the Buffalo Bridge on Route 62.

The area near Russ Trucking on Route 62 is shut-down while crews clean up and investigate the accident.

According to Putnam County Dispatchers, the person was driving a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck.

No other injuries have been reported.

No other information is available at this time.
