UPDATE: Pair from Detroit Arrested in Barboursville Drug Raid; Names Released

BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Authorities have released the names and charges against the two people from Detroit arrested during a drug raid at an apartment in Barboursville early Wednesday evening.

Members of the Huntington Violent Crime Task Force and Huntington Police’s SWAT team raided the apartment in the 6300 block East Pea Ridge Road about 6 p.m.

Porcha Raspberry-Perry, 25, and Lawrence Works, 27, both of Detroit are each charged with two counts of drug possession.

According to the criminal complaints, investigators found 80 grams of heroin, 117 oxycodone pills, a large sum of cash and two guns inside the apartment .

Both people are in the Western Regional Jail.

Huntington Police Chief Jim Johnson says the raid happened because area residents reported suspicious activity at the apartment complex to police.

Members of the Huntington Violent Crime Task Force and Huntington Police’s SWAT team raided apartment 12 at the Ridgerunner Apartments in the 6300 block East Pea Ridge Road about 6 p.m..

Inside the apartment, investigators said they found distribution amounts of heroin, cocaine, pills, liquid codeine, marijuana, along with multiple guns and cash.

Investigators have not released the names or charges against the tow people arrested.

Huntington Police Chief Jim Johnson says the raid happened because area residents reported suspicious activity at the apartment complex to police.

BARBOUSVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Tips from neighbors helped police nab two people from Detroit suspected of dealing drugs.

The names and charges of the people arrested are not being released at this time.

The bust happened Wednesday night at an apartment complex in the 6300 block of East Pea Ridge Road in Barboursville.

Inside members of the Huntington Violent Crime Drug Task Force, the Huntington Police Department SWAT Team and Special Emphasis Unit found amounts of heroin, cocaine, pills, liquid codeine and pot that were enough to distribute. They also found several guns and cash.

The bust comes as a part of the city's "River to Jail" program that has netted dozens of arrests, taken thousands of dollars and kept drugs off the streets.
