GRAYSON, Ky. (AP) -- Work is underway on Interstate 64 in eastern Kentucky where more than 12 miles of paving and other improvements are taking place.
The Transportation Cabinet says I-64 in Carter County is reduced to one lane from around Olive Hill to near Pleasant Valley.
Work started on the westbound lanes first and will then move to the eastbound lanes. After that stretch is complete, crews will move to the next six-mile section.
Paving work is also underway on I-64 in Bath and Rowan counties.
The cabinet says to be alert for narrow and closed lanes, merging traffic and reduced speed limits as double fines are in force in work zones during construction
