CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman has been arrested in connection with a pedestrian that was hit on Charleston's West Side Thursday evening.
It happened about 7:30 p.m. in the area of Russell Street and Central Avenue.
Charleston Police say Mary Moss, 24, was under the influence of drugs when she hit a woman who was walking.
Police say the victim was taken to the hospital with injuries to her head, neck and hip.
Moss has been charged with DUI causing injury.
The Russell Street and Central Avenue intersection was shut down as a woman was treated and taken to the hospital after being hit by a car.
The person police believe was driving was also given a field sobriety test in that same area.
So far, the victim's name and condition have not been released, nor has the name of the driver of the vehicle that hit her.

It happened about 7:30. Witnesses say the victim was in her twenties and was walking with two small children when she was hit and thrown into a ditch.
The woman was taken to the hospital.
Our crew at the scene says one person at the scene was cuffed and put into a Charleston Police cruiser after being given a field sobriety test.
The intersection is closed right now as police investigate and the mess is cleaned up.
American Electric Power has been called to deal with power lines that were taken down during the accident.
