POMEROY, Ohio (WSAZ) – One of the three people charged in connection with a murder at a motel in Pomeroy, Ohio has agreed to plea deal.
Wallace Chafin, 57, of Pomeroy, Ohio, was a guest at the Meigs Motel and found stabbed to death back in May.
Ryan Cozart, 32, of Racine, with originally indicted on charges of aggravated murder, aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence.
Thursday during a hearing in Meigs County Common Pleas Court, Cozart pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, robbery and tampering with evidence.
The agreement calls for him to receive a 22 year prison sentence.
Two other people were indicted in the case.
Ariel Smith, 22, of Pomeroy, is charged with complicity to felonious assault and tampering with evidence.
Sara Craig, 33, of Portland, Ohio, is charged with tampering with evidence, obstructing official business and receiving stolen property.
Both agreed to plea deals last year.
