POCA, WVa. (WSAZ) --- The afternoon bell at Poca High School lets students know the day's over.
But for the staff at Valley Health Clinic, on campus, it's not over, just changing.
Valley Health has a student based clinic during the school day, but then it's open the general public, from 3:30 in the afternoon until 8:00 at night, three days a week.
"We are providing the school based clinic during the day, community health center by night," says administrator Melanie Hall. "The clinic brings medical, dental, behavior health services to the community, regardless of their ability to pay; it provides low cost prescriptions."
Brandy Staats is a mom with two children, who didn't know the clinic is in her own backyard.
"It gives people another option," says Staats. "I don't like to have to drive to Charleston, just to have my baby get his shots; it's inconvenient."
