ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- The search for a fugitive from Arizona in Ashland ends with two other people arrested and charged with operating a marijuana growing operation.
Ashland Police say detectives and members of the U.S Marshal’s Service went to an apartment in the 3200-block of Bath Avenue Wednesday afternoon looking for Ellis Pittman, 33, of Maricopa County, Arizona.
Police say not only did they find and arrest Pittman, but they also discovered a “significant” marijuana growing operation in the apartment.
More than 40 plants with an estimated street value of nearly $100,000 were seized along with equipment and paraphernalia used to cultivate the plants.
Rebecca Leone, 29, and Edmund Thomas, 33, were arrested and charged with marijuana cultivation of more than five plants. Leone was also wanted on an unrelated failure to appear warrant.
Pittman was wanted in Arizona on two felony counts of aggravated assault.
