Troopers Find 100 Guns, Drugs & Cash During Search; Suspect in Custody

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- West Virginia State Police have recovered dozens of guns and drugs while executing a search warrant at a home on Simmons Creek Road in Belle.

Troopers tell this stems from an investigation that stretches all the way back to December.

Troopers say they have found between 100 and 150 guns on the property. They have also found drugs and cash.

"This was a high risk search warrant due to the number of firearms in the dwelling," Sgt. Larry O'Brian said. "They were everywhere -- beside his bed, under the house, on top in the attic, throughout the house. Again, their locations if you can name it in the house -- that's where guns were found."

Troopers say meth was even being shipped to the house from out of state. When they arrived at the trailer they found cameras facing the road, according to investigators.

Dorsey Woolwine Jr. was arrested in connection with the investigation.

As Woolwine was taken to a police cruiser, he told our cameras he collects guns and drugs.

"I like guns. I've never hurt anyone with them I just go shoot them every now and then," Woolwine said.

Woolwine is a convicted felon who is not allowed to have a gun.

"I broke the law, and I got caught," Woolwine said. "Don't do drugs."

Woolwine was convicted back in 2003 of malicious wounding. He was sentenced to one year home confinement.
