HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two people have been taken into custody following a raid at a duplex in the west end of Huntington Wednesday afternoon.

Huntington Police, U.S. Postal Inspectors, DEA and drug task force members executed a search warrant at a second floor apartment at 2200 Washington Avenue about 12:30 p.m.

Police Chief Skip Holbrook tells WSAZ.com that officers have found heroin inside the residence. The search of that residence continues at this hour.

Police say two men were detained trying to leave the residence in a car with Illinois tags as officers arrived on the scene.

Holbrook says several other people are being questioned at this time. He also says the residence has been under surveillance for some time.

Our crew on the scene has seen officers carrying several bags out of the second floor apartment.
