SOUTH POINT, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Two people from Portsmouth were arrested for possession of heroin during a traffic stop in South Point Tuesday.
Sgt. L. Abrams says the stop was made near Grandview Avenue along US 52 about 10 a.m.
Abrams says the driver had no license and was on probation in Circleville for possession of crack, along with a pending court case for meth in Pike County, Ohio.
During a search of the driver and passenger, Abrams says one gram of heroin was found, along with a syringe.
Amanda L. Williams and Jason Burgess, both of Portsmouth, were arrested.
Abrams says the charges include driving under suspension, weaving within marked lanes, possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of heroin.
The pair was taken to the Lawrence County Jail.
