KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Plants is responding to the Office of Disciplinary Counsel's recommendation that he be disqualified from certain cases, or have his law license suspended.
In a brief filed Thursday, Plants says special prosecutors have already been appointed to handle cases involving domestic battery, violence and domestic violence petitions.
Plants also says having his law license suspended is unneeded and unfair since he has not been convicted on any criminal charges.
The recommendation came after he was accused of using excessive force while spanking his son.
Plants is also facing a misdemeanor charge for violating a DVP filed by his ex-wife.
