HURRICANE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The owners of a landfill in Putnam County will have to cooperate with an investigation into the dumping of wastewater contaminated with the chemical MCHM.

A Circuit Judge in Kanawha County ruled Friday that Michael Callaghan and a team of environmental lawyers do have authority to conduct the investigation.

Callaghan says officials at the DSI Landfill in Hurricane have not been cooperative since the investigation started.

Another hearing on the issue has been set for May 14th.

Callaghan says a federal injunction to have the chemical removed will also be filed on Monday.
