PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Putnam County will maintain it's normal schedule for the 2013-14 school year.

During Monday's meeting, the Putnam County Board of Education approved the school calendar for 2013-2104. The first day of school for students will be August 22. School will let out at the end of May.

The calendar won't be much different then years past.

"It's kind of amazing when we start thinking about next school year, March of this school year, so you know everything that we get in place and ready for, that just makes it smoother," Chuck Hatfield, Putnam County Superintendent said.

Board members chose not to mimic Kanawha County. This year students start school the first week of August.
