CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Just-released files show two West Virginia Boy Scout leaders were allowed to resign in the 1970s without facing criminal charges amid allegations of sexual abuse involving young boys.

According to media reports, the revelation was contained in about 14,500 pages of secret "perversion files" released Thursday by the Boy Scouts of America. The files were released by order of the Oregon Supreme Court.

In West Virginia, a district training chairman in Huntington was accused of sex abuse involving three boys. The other report involved similar allegations against a scoutmaster in Glendale.

Besides those two incidents, 25 Scout units from Parkersburg, New Martinsville and a handful of other West Virginia towns and cities are linked to allegations of abuse. Specifics on other cases were not detailed.
