Robbery Suspect Flees After Clerk Removes Mask

STANVILLE, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A man who tried to rob a store in Floyd County store took off empty handed after an employee removed the bandanna covering his face.

Kentucky State Police say the attempted robbery happened at the Cardinal Country Store in Stanville about 1:45 Thursday morning.

Troopers say the man entered the business, brandished a weapon, and demanded money.

After a employee confronted the man and removed the bandana, the man took off through at a rear door.

Troopers say he was approximately 6' tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, brown shoes, camouflage hat and a light colored bandana over his face.
