UPDATE: One Dead in Route 2 Crash; Name Released

UPDATE 11/21/12 @ 4:45 p.m.
CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The name has been released of the man that died in an accident on Route 2 Tuesday.

Sgt. Todd Wentz with the Cabell County Sheriff's Department WSAZ.com that Justin Ray, 25, of Kenova, died in the two-car accident.

The accident happened about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday in the 7000-block of Ohio River Road, also known as Route 2, in the Lesage area.

Wentz tells WSAZ.com that Ray was driving a van when he rear-ended a truck that was stopped on Route 2.

Investigators are not releasing the name of Ray's passenger. That person received non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck was not taken to the hospital from the scene, but did complain of some pain, Sgt. Wentz tells WSAZ.com.

They are still investigating the cause of the accident.

Route 2 was shut down for a couple of hours Tuesday as crews cleared the scene.

CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One person died, and another is in the hospital after a rear-end collision that happened Tuesday.

The accident happened about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday in the 7000-block of Ohio River Road, also known as Route 2, in the Lesage area.

Sgt. Todd Wentz with the Cabell County Sheriff's Department tells WSAZ.com that a van rear-ended a truck that was stopped on Route 2.

Wentz says the driver of the van died from their injuries at a local hospital. The passenger was also taken to a local hospital. No word at this time on their condition.

Their names are expected to be released Wednesday afternoon.

The driver of the truck was not taken to the hospital from the scene, but did complain of some pain, Sgt. Wentz tells WSAZ.com.

They are still investigating the cause of the accident.

Route 2 was shut down for a couple of hours Thursday as crews cleared the scene.

Cabell 911 dispatchers tell WSAZ.com the crash happened in the 7000-block of Ohio River Road about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash and at least one person was taken to the hospital.

Route 2 was closed for a couple of hours until the scene was cleared.

CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A two-vehicle crash has traffic backed up on Route 2 in Lesage, W.Va.

According to Cabell County Dispatchers, the accident happened in the 7000-block of Ohio River Road about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Route 2 is closed in both directions.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash and two people were transported to the hospital.

No word on the extent of their injuries.

Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com that one lane is expected to be open within the next 30 minutes.
