CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Small Business Administration has granted West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin's request for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan Declaration.
This will provide low-interest loans for small businesses and non-profit organizations whose activities and finances have been impacted by the January 9th chemical spill that contaminated West Virginia American Water's supply.
"I'm grateful for the SBA's quick response to my request for assistance to help the businesses and nonprofit organizations whose operations were disrupted as a result of West Virginia American Water Company's DO NOT USE order," Gov. Tomblin said.
Businesses and non-profits in the nine-county area may apply for the loans. They will be distributed based on each organizations financial status.
