SEVERE WEATHER: Storm Knocks Down Trees, Power Outages

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A strong storm knocked down several trees and caused some power outages in the area.

In Kanawha County, the heavy winds and rain toppled down a large tree limb at the intersection of 7th Street and Riverview Drive in Belle.

The tree was on the road for about 45 minutes until a Belle City Employee was able to use his pick up truck and move the tree off the street.

As of 7:45 a.m., 1,477 people were without power in Kanawha County. No word on when power will be restored.

603 customers in Cabell County are also without power.

A large tree came down on some power lines on Dudley Gap Road in Milton. It happened about 9 p.m. Tuesday. This has caused some power outages in the Barker Ridge area.
