Saturday Deadline for FEMA Assistance

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – The deadline has arrived for West Virginians looking for help cleaning up from hurricane Sandy.
The storm hit in late October and left three-foot-deep snow in parts of West Virginia.
18 West Virginia counties were eligible for public assistance aid for emergency work, debris removal, and repair or replacement of facilities.
Those counties include: Barbour, Boone, Braxton, Clay, Fayette, Kanawha, Lewis, Nicholas, Pendleton, Pocahontas, Preston, Raleigh, Randolph, Taylor, Tucker, Upshur, Webster and Wyoming.
The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Saturday, January 26th.
At last check, FEMA had received applications for almost 90 projects, totaling more than $1.3 million.
