GALLIPOLIS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- School safety will be the topic during district wide meetings in Gallipolis, Ohio, that start Tuesday.
According to the Gallipolis City Schools website, public safety meetings will be held at each school in the district to review safety procedures.
"We think it is extremely important to hear from the public on the issue of safety and security," said Roger Mace, Superintendent of Gallipolis City Schools.
Mace says safety is the number one priority, and "it is important to let our citizens know what we are doing to keep them safe while they are in our buildings."
"The goal of these meetings is to hear the public's safety concerns so that we can address that threats that our schools are facing today," said Terry Johnson, Transportation and Safety Director. "We also want our community to know what procedures they can expect when they visit our buildings."
