Search and Rescue Crews Find Man and 6-year-old Girl Safe

PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Putnam County Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com a man and his 6-year-old niece have been found safe by search and rescue crews.

The two were found in a pickup truck that was stuck in a wooded area of Putnam County near Dupont Rd. about 2 Monday morning.

Dispatchers say their truck had gotten stuck on a piece of slipped road.

They had last been seen going for a drive in a pickup truck about 5:30 Sunday evening.

Dispatchers say there were between 15 and 20 people searching for the two.

There were no injuries, and officials say it is not suspicious.

PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Search and Rescue crews are currently looking for a 26-year old man and his 6-year old niece who went out in the woods in a pickup truck and have not returned.

The two were last seen in a pickup truck about 5:30 Sunday evening. Putnam County dispatchers say search crews are focusing on Dupont Rd. near Poca.
