UPDATE: Name Released in Fatal Crash on Route 60 in Kanawha County

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department has released the name of the man who died in a car accident Thursday afternoon.

According to a news release, Timothy Fox, 52, of Black Betsy in Putnam County, died as a result of the crash. His wife, Melinda, 42, was taken to the hospital after she was cut out of the vehicle.

Melinda was the one driving the SUV which deputies say belonged to another family member.

According to the news release the accident is still under investigation but evidence at the scene indicates speed was a contributing factor.

Deputies say that Melinda was driving east on Route 60 near St. Albans when it went off the road to the right, then left into incoming traffic, then right off the roadway into an embankment.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One person is dead after a single car rollover on Route 60 in Kanawha County.

It happened about 3 p.m. at Coal Mountain which is near the Kanawha/Putnam County line.

Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com, one other person was in the car at the time of the crash. We don't know the condition of the other victim.

Route 60 is closed in the area and dispatchers say it is expected to be closed for awhile.
