UPDATE 1/16/13 @ 6:20 p.m.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Tuesday's rain may have come and gone, but headaches remain for some residents who live along Midnight Drive and Fields Creek Road.

For hours Tuesday, the blaring sounds of trucks could be heard as members of the Kanawha Valley Public Service District tried to stop the flooding in one neighborhood. Yards of at least five homes were flooded Tuesday morning.

"We came up here to check it out, and it's a collapsed storm drain," said Carl King, operations manager with the PSD. "So we're going to pump it out and try to make a temporary repair to try to get the water off the customers here."

Neighbors say they think the flooding may have to do with the nearby installation of a sewer system last year.

King explained the repairs would likely only be temporary; that's because the person responsible for the long-term repairs is still unknown.

One thing that was clear late Tuesday is neighbors are becoming annoyed and hope someone soon will permanently fix the flooding.

"I hope someone does because if they don't," homeowner Edward Pauley said. "I'm going to go down and see a lawyer. I've got pictures of everything."

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Several homes have been flooded after a water line broke near Chesapeake.

The break happened about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday along Midnight Drive.

Kanawha County Commission President Kent Carper tells WSAZ.com several homes received damage and emergency management crews are on the scene assessing the damage.

The heavy rains are also to blame.

We have a crew at the scene. Keep clicking on WSAZ.com for the latest information.
