UPDATE: Major Car Crash on I-77 North

JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Five people were injured following a major crash on I-77 Sunday night.

Emergency workers tell WSAZ.com it happened near the Kenna exit just after 9 p.m.

Deputies say the driver of a pickup truck was traveling south when his rear tire blew out. They say it pushed the driver across the median where he rolled over into the northbound lanes.

Then two compact cars hit each other when swerving to avoid the pickup. Deputies say five people were injured. Four were taken to the hospital.

JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One northbound lane of I-77 is closed following a bad car crash.

It happened just after 9 p.m. Sunday near the Kenna exit.

Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com five people have been hurt following a two-car crash. Some may have serious injuries.

One of those cars rolled over, according to dispatchers. EMS workers from Kanawha County have been called in as back up.
