GALLIPOLIS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Up until just a couple of months ago, there had never been a meth lab bust within the city limits of Gallipolis. Since late November, several meth labs have been found.
Gallipolis Police tell WSAZ.com that three separate labs were found over the weekend in the city.
Saturday, two plastic grocery bags containing "one-pot" labs were found along Mill Creek Road near the city limits. On Sunday, a backpack containing meth lab components was found in a field along Upper River Road. Later the same day, another backpack with 12 "one-pot" labs was found in a dumpster behind a business on Eastern Avenue.
Another lab was found at the Regency Inn on Upper River Road within the last month.
Several of the "one-pot" labs were made in pop bottles.
Crews from the Middleport Police Department and the Gallia County Sheriff's Office came in over the weekend and helped disassemble and neutralize the labs.
No arrests have been made.
The Gallipolis Police Department is urging the public to become familiar and be able to recognize possible dump sites.
