UPDATE 10/15/12 @ 4:30 p.m.
KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A disturbance happened at a 7-Eleven outside of Dunbar during the weekend, and a nearby business caught it all on camera.

Workman Pre-Owned Auto Sales is just feet away from the 7-Eleven along Washington Avenue West. The owner has several cameras outside of his business, one of which happened to catch the whole incident as it unfolded over the weekend.

"As you can see, he gets to the door, shatters, he takes off running," said James Workman, who wasn’t expecting to see that when he checked his surveillance video.

"Scary. It's very scary,” he said. “A regular day. A guy getting gas."

Workman owns Workman Pre-Owned Auto Sales, which is right next to the 7-Eleven outside of Dunbar. That’s where the front door was shattered Saturday afternoon.

By what though, is still unknown. Deputies told WSAZ.com on Saturday that a loud noise, similar to gunshots was heard right before it was destroyed.

"Now, if that was a bullet and it was meant for him, it was surely close," Workman said.

It’s a scary situation that Workman said he’s not surprised about. He said he’s fallen victim to vandals in the past and has cameras surrounding his building to help protect himself and his business. It was one of those cameras facing the 7-Eleven that caught Saturday’s incident as it happened.

"I got cameras in place," Workman said. "I got a security system in place, and you can only do so much. You got everything in place to try to fight the vandalism and crime that's out there."

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the case. WSAZ.com is still waiting to hear back from deputies for an update on the investigation. They also were looking at surveillance video from the 7-Eleven.

WSAZ.com tried talking to employees at the 7-Eleven, but they weren’t able to comment.
