CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Sheetz Inc. plans to open more stores in West Virginia, with a goal of adding six each year.

Sheetz real estate manager David Hazelet says a site in Beckley and another one in Ripley are under contract. He says the company is negotiating for about five other sites in towns along the Interstates 77 and 79 corridors.

He says company officials want to obtain enough land to open six new stores a year in the state.

Right now, the company doesn't have specific plans to open a Sheetz in Kanawha County.

Recently, Sheetz has opened four new stores in Putnam County, including one along Teays Valley Road in Hurricane. That store opened earlier this month.

Altoona, Pa.-based Sheetz has 44 stores in the state.
