RAVENSWOOD, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A truck smoking and two men trying to stomp out a fire lead a police officer to meth lab Thursday morning.

Members of the Ravenswood Police Department were responding to an unrelated call in the area of Harpold and Ritchie when they noticed two men trying to put the fire out, according to a post on the Department's Facebook Page.

When the officer went to check things out he discovered that there were items consistent with making meth.

Jason Nuzum was arrested and charged with operating a clandestine lab and exposing children to the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Charles "Chuck" Staats was charged with operating a clandestine lab. Amanda "Amy" Nuzum was charged with exposing children to methamphetamine.

Jason Nuzum's Bond was set at $500,000. Bond for the other two arrested was set at $250,000.

According to the Ravenswood Police Chief, who signed the social media post, special measures were taken to ensure the safety of the children involved.

The Chief says the Jackson County Sheriff's Department helped with the arrests.
