Snow Slams Southeast Ohio
JACKSON COUNTY, Oh. (WSAZ) -- Road crews were out pounding the pavement, clearing a pathway and spreading salt.
One of the hardest hit places Friday into Saturday morning was Jackson County, Ohio.
Neighbors had to help each other dig out -- shoveling sidewalks and driveways. More than four or five inches fell there.
Crews were out early trying to be proactive and making sure the roads were safe.
"Our administrator, he had us come out before the storm to be proactive," county manager David Walton said. "We were out, we had all the trucks out when it started. It gave us a big advantage when it came to getting the roads clear because where here when the event starts."
As a reminder, just because the roads look clear, driver still need to be cautious. Water on the roads can freeze and turn into black ice.
