HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Some community and church members are asking for a stricter curfew in the city of Huntington.
They spoke out during Monday's City Council meeting. Under the city's current curfew ordinance, kids who are under 18 must be home by 11 p.m. If not, they could face fines and or jail time.
Supporters of a stricter curfew said it should start at 10 p.m. rather than 11, and police need to enforce it. They say it is all in an effort to keep kids out of trouble and crime out of their neighborhoods.
Council members says they will take a look at the current ordinance, as well as the group's proposal, and discuss possible changes at a later meeting.
