UPDATE: Services Set for South Harrison Football Player

LOST CREEK, W.Va. (AP) - Services will be held Sunday for a South Harrison High School football player who collapsed at a game last month.

The funeral for 17-year-old Dylan Jeffries will take place at the school's football field in Lost Creek. In case of rain, services will be held in the school's gymnasium.

Davis Funeral Home in Clarksburg is handling arrangements. Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Home in Clarksburg on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A private burial will be held Monday.

Media outlets report Jeffries had been placed in a medically induced coma at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after undergoing surgery to have a blood clot removed from his brain.

The running back collapsed on the sidelines during a Sept. 27 game against Lincoln.

LOST CREEK, W.Va. (AP) -- The principal at South Harrison High School says a standout football player who collapsed at a game last month has died.

Principal Greg Moore says 17-year-old Dylan Jeffries died Sunday night.

Media outlets report Jeffries had been placed in a medically induced coma at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after undergoing surgery to have a blood clot removed from his brain.

The running back collapsed on the sidelines during a Sept. 27 game against Lincoln.

Moore says additional counselors were at the school Monday to assist grieving students and faculty. After-school activities have been canceled.

Moore says funeral information is incomplete.

More than 1,000 people attended a vigil for Jeffries last week
