UPDATE 9/17/13 @ 3:35 p.m.
OLIVE HILL, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Kentucky State Police say the Olive Hill man who barricaded himself inside his home overnight was armed.

47-year-old Larry Price was taken into custody about 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.

KSP says the incident began Monday morning when troopers at the Morehead post received a report of a person making threats and discharging a firearm in a reckless manner. The female relative said Price was armed with a shotgun and had made numerous threats to harm both her, and any law enforcement officers that came to the residence.

Warrants were later issued charging Price with wanton endangerment and terroristic threatening.

When troopers arrived at his home on Trumbo Road Monday night to serve those warrants, they say Price was armed with a gun and made several threatening statements to troopers. He also refused to comply with all requests from law enforcement and barricaded inside his residence.

The Kentucky State Police, Special Response Team was contacted and responded to the scene.

Communication with Mr. Price began and when he failed to exit the residence, non-lethal gas rounds were shot into the residence around 3 a.m.

Troopers say after they entered the residence, Price again refused to comply with requests from law enforcement and he was hit with a TASER.

Price was charged with resisting arrest in connection with the standoff. He is being held in the Carter County Detention Center.
