State-of-Art Medical Tool Unveiled in Cabell County

CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Cabell County first responders have a new medical tool to help save more lives -- the first of its kind in the state, leaders say.

On Tuesday afternoon, emergency officials unveiled the new Portable Oxygen System at the Tri-State Fire Academy in Huntington's Guyandotte community.

They say the unit can travel across the state to provide oxygen to patients when there's no electricity.

It's a problem they say they ran into last year.

Cabell County leaders say the unit cost more than $90,000 and was funded mostly by Homeland Security grants.
