Neighbors Voice Frustration Over String of Break-ins

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Neighbors are getting fed up and frustrated after a spike in break-ins.

In a rural area outside Minford, Ohio, private property has been anything but.

"The robbery problem around here has progressively gotten worse," Andy Adkins said.

"Everyone around here is getting sick of the problem," Kyle Boldman said.

Guns, tools, lawn equipment and money are being stolen from home after home, neighbors say.

One neighbor near the Scioto-Jackson County line who didn't want to talk on camera said his home was targeted four times last week.

Robert Payne is retired. He spends much of his time on his porch on Sulphur Springs Road hoping to dissuade burglars from targeting him.

"It's disheartening to see the area in the shape it's in," Payne said.

Jack Spears says their location far from the Scioto County Sheriff's Office makes them an easier target for thieves.

"It takes them so long to get here, and it's already over by the time they get here," Spears said.
