ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A man suspected of a string of burglaries is behind bars.
Major Mark McDowell with the Ashland Police department says Kirby Boggs is believed to be connected with at least five business burglaries.
He says the thefts happened in Ashland's downtown business district at night after the businesses had closed. The thefts have been occurring since late October.
Tens of thousand of dollars worth of computers, tools, cigarettes, and other items were stolen.
Boggs, 41, was arrested on drug charges. Police say the theft charges are coming.
"We were at a point where we knew these burglaries were going on, and detectives were able to get some charges on him so we could get him off the street," McDowell said.
Nine computer monitors and other items were stolen from the Carter Avenue office of King’s Daughters Medical Specialties over Thanksgiving weekend, a hospital spokesmen said.
Conley says they’re working on finding out if Boggs had somebody helping him.
Boggs is charged with one count of theft. Four more theft charges against him are pending.
