Suspect Escapes from Beckley Correctional Center

BECKLEY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police are looking for a man who escaped from the Beckley Correctional Center.

According to a news release, Frank R. Smith, 27, escaped about 3:40 a.m. Tuesday.

Smith was convicted of Attempt to Commit a felony in Cabell County and was serving a one to three year sentence. Court documents say the crime was the theft of a TV from Safe Haven in Huntington. .

Smith has blonde/strawberry hair with blue eyes. He's 5'11" and 175 pounds.

Smith has several tattoos. On his left front forearm he has a scar with a tattoo of stars around it. According to a news release, on his throat he has a "WV" tattoo. On his left chest, there is an ace of spades and a 3 of spades, 2 dice and flames.

Then, on his right neck, He has West Virginia with bars inside. On his left neck, he has a praying hands tattoo.
