CHARLESTON, W.Va.(WSAZ) -- Several streets in Charleston are back open after a suspicious backpack was found at a church on Quarrier Street.
The backpack was found in the Baptist Temple parking lot about 9 a.m. Monday.
Quarrier, Lee and Morris Streets were blocked off in the area while the bomb squad checked out the bag.
Nothing dangerous was found.
Deputies say the bomb squad was called in and the streets were closed just as a precaution.
Dispatchers say the backpack was found in the Baptist Temple parking lot in downtown Charleston about 9:00 a.m.
Police have blocked Quarrier, Lee and Morris Streets in the area.
The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department has sent the bomb squad is on the scene.
Deputies tell WSAZ.com, no threats have been expressed so they are checking out the bag as a precaution.
