UPDATE 9/4/13 @ 6:25 p.m.
HURRICANE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A trusted teacher's aide is now out of the classroom and behind bars.

David Gibson, 59, is facing sexual assault charges -- accused of having sex with students since at least 1996.

For as long as he can remember, William Hodges has been neighbors and friends with Gibson.

“Dave is a good moral person,” Hodges said.

So, he was no doubt shocked to hear that Gibson was arrested.

Troopers say Gibson has worked as a teacher's aide at Hurricane High School for more than 20 years.

A couple of weeks ago, a special needs student told police he got her drunk and had sex with her at his house.

That investigation helped them uncover other cases from 1996.

Two students, ages 15 and 16 at the time, claim Gibson did the same thing to them.

“He created an environment at his home that attracted these students there,” West Virginia State Police Sgt. Cole Flowers said.

According to the complaints, Gibson bought the girls gifts, flirted with them and gave them alcohol.

“I don't believe it,” Hodges said. “I really don't believe this incident happened.”

However, police say Gibson admitted to all three cases -- saying he knows what he did was wrong, but there's even more to this story.

“The images I saw, they were disturbing,” Flowers said.

Pictures of students' faces cut out and pasted on to pornographic collages were found throughout Gibson’s house.

That evidence, along with the time gap between victims, leads police to believe there are others out there.

“You're not the only one. You're not alone,” Flowers said. “We're here to help and we need your help in this case.”

If you have any information, you are asked to call West Virginia State Police at the Winfield office (304) 586-2000.

Police say Gibson has resigned.

WSAZ.com reached out to Gibson in jail. He declined the request for an interview.

HURRICANE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A teacher's aide has been arrested after West Virginia State Police say he had sexual relationships with three students.

David R. Gibson, 59, of Hurricane, who is a teacher's aide for a special education class at Hurricane High School, was arrested Tuesday on four counts of sexual assault.

State Police say while he was an aide, he gave at least three students alcohol and engaged in sexual acts with them.

In one of the criminal complaints, a 21-year-old student told investigators that Gibson gave her alcohol and made her smoke marijuana and then had sex with her, according to investigators.

According to the criminal complaint, Gibson admitted to police he had sex with the girl and he knew it was wrong.

State Police executed a search warrant on Gibson's home and found evidence of child erotica and child pornography.
