BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A teenager is in jail charged with stabbing another teen.
The Boyd County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened in the 2100 block of Main Street in Westwood, Ky. about 10:00 p.m. Sunday.
Deputies arrested Alec Burress, 18, of Ashland and charged him with assault.
According to deputies, the 16-year-old male victim was stabbed 5 times with a pocket knife. They say one of the stab wounds punctured a lung.
The victim was first taken to an Ashland hospital and then transferred to a Huntington hospital where he is listed in serious condition.
Burress is being held in the Boyd County Detention Center.
