HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A teenager rushed to the rescue and saved a woman’s life Saturday morning.
19-year-old Ian Fitzpatrick ran into a smoke-filled house and rescued a woman who had passed out, according to firefighters.
The fire broke out at a home on Doulton Avenue about 1 a.m.
Wendell Keith says he woke up to a house full of smoke and couldn't find his girlfriend, Donna Bott.
He ran to Fitzpatrick's house for help, and Fitzpatrick jumped into action, ran into the house and found Bott. He then pulled her to safety.
The fire started on the first floor, but no word on what caused it.
Bott was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital. She's expected to make a quick recovery.
