ELKVIEW, W. Va. (WSAZ) -- The Elkview Little League is now out more than $1,000 after someone broke into three concession stands, according to police.

The breaks-ins happened between Friday and Monday at Chambers Field, Central and then Pinch Ball Park.

According to Elkview Board Member Bill Bright, in all but one break-in only cash was stolen. The last concession stand hit was also robbed of candy and supplies.

Members of the little league tell that kind of money is critical to the group.

The cost to replace the doors broken during the robberies is also now another expense, about $400 per door.

In all, the Elkview Little League is out more than $2,000.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crimes. As of Wednesday night, no arrests have been made.

If there's one silver lining it's the community's reaction, Bright said.

“I have people that want to donate money,” Bright said. “I have people that are turning in leads to the sheriff's department so yeah everyone is the same boat that 'wow... They’d do that to a little league?'”
