BATH COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- An Elliott County, Ky., woman and two EMTs were taken to the hospital after an ambulance crash Monday afternoon on Interstate 64 in Bath County, according to a Kentucky State Police news release.

Wandalene Smith, 62, of Sandy Hook, a patient in the ambulance, was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two EMTs were treated at St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, Ky., and released.

The ambulance was headed east on I-64 on a non-emergency run when the driver lost control near the 126-mile marker and struck a guardrail end cap. The crash was reported at 2:18 p.m. Monday.

Troopers say the ambulance was headed from Lexington to Sandy Hook.

The cause of the crash was unknown, but the accident remains under investigation.
